In the realm of Music League, where bards compete across 5 great quests, one champion has emerged from the crucible of 110 submitted songs.
Chronicled by Chronicler Ysolde, Royal Scribe of the League · Year of the 17th Tournament
In the era of the 17th Tournament, the realm of Music League gathered its most skilled curators for a season of great reckoning. 11 bards and champions took their places in the arena, armed with libraries vast and tastes honed by years of listening. The competition would span 5 great quests, each more treacherous than the last. When the final votes were cast, it was sgigs who stood upon the Obsidian Throne of League 17, crowned by 71 hard-won points. A 9-point margin sealed the result.
The challenge of Shane — 62 points, a worthy rival — pressed the eventual champion through the crucial middle rounds. But sgigs's 1 quest win proved decisive. The champion's arsenal was formidable; their knowledge of the ancient songs, unmatched.
"How can you not be inspired by such brilliant lines like this: “He could preach the Bible like a preacher”"
Carrie on Rasputin by Boney M. · Super's Theme - Killing in the NAME of
The legendary submission of the tournament: "Nightcall" — a battle hymn of Kavinsky, wielded by the bard jsexe with devastating precision. It struck the voting council for 11 points of glory, the most powerful single incantation of the entire tournament. Songs shall be written about it. Some already have been.
The quest "Norma's Theme - Time Capsule 1983" opened the tournament, and it was revleitner who first tasted victory — their submission "Major Tom (Coming Home)" by Peter Schilling earning 9 points of honor. "Super's Theme - Killing in the NAME of" followed, a harder quest, won eventually by Carrie. Each quest tested a different facet of the competitors' mastery.
The ranks remained unchanged, yet the competition within them grew fiercer. And let it be recorded that athenia1013, though finishing last with 39 points of honor, showed courage throughout — a knight who lost the tournament but won respect.
Thus ends the chronicle of League 17. The realm rests — briefly. Even now, the heralds prepare the call for League 18, a new tournament that shall bring fresh quests, new challengers, and unknown songs from the deepest reaches of the competitors' libraries. The bards are already preparing. The throne awaits its next occupant.
