I have been compiling playlists since the cassette era and I have opinions. 5 rounds. 90 songs. One outcome I have many feelings about.

Top five reactions to Eric winning League 15 with 63 points: 1) grudging respect, 2) mild jealousy, 3) genuine admiration for the round win total (1), 4) the quiet knowledge that I would have made different choices, 5) acceptance. I am an adult.
"Space Age Love Song" by A Flock Of Seagulls going for 11 points is the kind of submission that makes you feel something you weren't expecting to feel. Fitz timed that right. I hate when people time things right. It's a compliment. Fitz at 60 deserves a mention because second place in a competition like this is nothing to sniff at, and I say this as someone who has finished second and handled it with moderate grace.

The "Shannon's Theme - Star Backup Singers" round — Eric won it, "Kool Thing" by Sonic Youth, 9 points. I had opinions about the theme and I submitted accordingly and the results were what they were. The "Jon's Theme - A (Not 100%) Randomly Generated Playlist" round is the one I'm still thinking about, which is either a sign of great curation or the beginning of an obsession. Possibly both.
The departure of Brian left a gap that others were eager to fill. On the leaderboard: Eric climbed 4 spots while Fitz climbed 2 spots. People come and go. The music stays. That's the deal you make when you join one of these things.
The sonic palette leaned toward hip hop and classic rock. A clear 1990s lean was unmistakable in the picks. Which says something. I have written approximately four paragraphs in my head about what it says, and I'm choosing to keep them there.
Anyway. Eric is your League 15 champion. The standings are what they are. League 16 approaches and I have already started thinking about my submissions, which is either dedication or a problem. Probably both. See you there. Bring good music.
