In the realm of Music League, where bards compete across 5 great quests, one champion has emerged from the crucible of 120 submitted songs.
Chronicled by Chronicler Ysolde, Royal Scribe of the League · Year of the 37th Tournament
In the era of the 37th Tournament, the realm of Music League gathered its most skilled curators for a season of great reckoning. 12 bards and champions took their places in the arena, armed with libraries vast and tastes honed by years of listening. The competition would span 5 great quests, each more treacherous than the last. When the final votes were cast, it was jsexe who stood upon the Obsidian Throne of League 37, crowned by 73 hard-won points.
The challenge of Joe — 70 points, a worthy rival — pressed the eventual champion through the crucial middle rounds. But jsexe's 1 quest win proved decisive. The champion's arsenal was formidable; their knowledge of the ancient songs, unmatched.
"How was this not used already?"
athenia1013 on The Times They Are A-Changin' by Bob Dylan · Carrie's Theme - Song of the Times
The legendary submission of the tournament: "Supersonic" — a battle hymn of J.J. Fad, wielded by the bard sgigs with devastating precision. It struck the voting council for 12 points of glory, the most powerful single incantation of the entire tournament. Songs shall be written about it. Some already have been.
The quest "Eric's Theme - Asked and Answered" opened the tournament, and it was Fitz who first tasted victory — their submission "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me" by Culture Club earning 11 points of honor. "Carrie's Theme - Song of the Times" followed, a harder quest, won eventually by Carrie. Each quest tested a different facet of the competitors' mastery.
First-timers Ben and Joe joined the fray, an injection of new blood into the rotation. Super and Julie took a break from the competition this time around. Movement in the rankings saw Fitz slipped 4 spots and Shane climbed 2 spots. And let it be recorded that Jared, though finishing last with 33 points of honor, showed courage throughout — a knight who lost the tournament but won respect. The order of champions shifts, but the tournament endures.
Thus ends the chronicle of League 37. The realm rests — briefly. Even now, the heralds prepare the call for League 38, a new tournament that shall bring fresh quests, new challengers, and unknown songs from the deepest reaches of the competitors' libraries. The bards are already preparing. The throne awaits its next occupant.
