Jaso(n), a veteran of the Music League competition, stood atop the final standings of League 33 with 85 points — a performance built on 1 round win and consistent point accumulation across 5 themed rounds. The runner-up, jsexe, finished with 67 points — a creditable showing that nonetheless left a meaningful gap between first and second place. A 18-point margin sealed the result.
The league's most-discussed submission was "The Sun Always Shines on T.V." by a-ha, entered by Jaso(n) and awarded 14 points by the voting group. Analysts of competitive curation noted the selection as well-suited to its round theme and broadly appealing to the voter cohort.
"After this playlist is over, I'll be listening to this track on repeat for a while."

The competition unfolded across a series of themed rounds. The "Shane's Theme - Computer OK" round, ultimately won by Jaso(n) with a score of 14 points, set an early tone for the season. "Fitz's Theme - Opening Lines" went to jsexe with "Don't You Want Me" by The Human League (13 pts). And for "Amy's Theme - On the Road Again" went to Super with "Holiday Road - National Lampoon's Vacation" by Lindsey Buckingham (10 pts). The pattern held throughout.
Fitz made their debut this league, bringing fresh ears to the competition. The departure of Joe left a gap that others were eager to fill. On the leaderboard: jsexe climbed 4 spots while Super climbed 6 spots. The changes to the competitive field did not appear to materially alter the dynamics of the contest.
The sonic palette leaned toward new wave and synthpop. A clear 1990s lean was unmistakable in the picks. Whether these preferences reflect a considered aesthetic philosophy or simply the tastes of a particular peer group is, as ever, difficult to determine without further data.
Jaso(n) did not respond to requests for comment. League 34 is expected to begin in due course.
